The Benefits of

Stainless Steel

Recycling stainless steel benefits both the environment and the economy. It conserves resources, lowers energy consumption, and reduces carbon emissions. Additionally, it creates jobs and minimises landfill waste, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.

Furthermore, stainless steel recycling promotes a circular economy, where materials are continually reused, rather than discarded after a single use. This circular approach reduces the need for virgin material production, conserving energy and further lessening environmental impacts.

Stainless Steel We Accept

Stainless Steel Domestic (Stainless 304)

Used in electrical enclosures, kitchen equipment, and more.

Lead sheets

Stainless Steel 316

Ideal for industrial applications and medical surgical instruments.

Stainless Steel Turnings

Consists of clean stainless steel with a minimum 7% nickel and 16% chrome.

The Process of

Stainless Steel Recycling

The stainless steel recycling process involves several steps:

Collection

Appliances, cookware, industrial equipment and structural components are collected.

Sorting

These items are then sorted by manual or automated techniques to identify and separate stainless steel items from other metals and materials.

Cleaning

Magnetic separation to remove ferrous materials, such as iron, and eddy current separation to separate non-ferrous metals like aluminium or copper.

Processing

Stainless steel scrap is melted down in furnaces and refined. The molten stainless steel is then cast into ingots for use in manufacturing new stainless steel products.
