The Process of
Insulated Wire Recycling
The insulated wire recycling process involves several steps:
Collection
Insulated wires are collected from various sources such as construction sites, electrical equipment, and recycling centers. They are sorted based on the type and quality of the wire.
Sorting and shredding
The collected wires are fed into a shredder, which chops them into smaller pieces. This helps in separating the metal cores from the insulating material more efficiently.
Metal recovery
Eddy current separators are used to extract non-ferrous metals like copper and aluminum. The separated metals are collected and cleaned. These reclaimed metals can then be sold to manufacturers for reuse in new products.
Processing
The remaining insulation material can either be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner or recycled into other products, depending on the type of material and local recycling capabilities.
